More Than 71,000 Homes Planned by 2030
Abu Dhabi is preparing for one of the largest housing supply expansions in its history. More than 71,000 new homes are projected to enter the market by 2030, according to the Abu Dhabi Real Estate Centre.
New Supply Set to Peak in 2028
The upcoming supply is expected to peak in 2028, when approximately 21,800 units are scheduled for handover. The additional housing stock is intended to support population growth while helping address rising property prices and rental costs.
Abu Dhabi's Current Housing Stock and Growth Rate
As of the first half of 2026, Abu Dhabi’s total housing stock stood at roughly 409,000 units. Housing supply has grown at an average annual rate of 2.9% since 2022, with around 79% of this growth concentrated in the main Abu Dhabi region.
Six Investment Zones to Absorb Most of the Supply
Approximately 77% of the future supply through 2030 is expected to be concentrated across six priority investment zones. This pipeline could significantly reshape Abu Dhabi’s residential market and strengthen its position as a major investment destination alongside Dubai.
